Barbie Jail Cast (Hannah)
Why we chose Kitty
We chose Kitty to play the main character as she's young and can go from looking very sweet an innocent to quite the opposite. Although she has no acting experience becuase there is no dioluge and she looks right for the part we feel she can still be successful in playing the main character. We wanted someone who was versatile in looks wise as the character she will play has to be someone that the audience can relate to and by choosing someone who could be perceived as very plain looking who we then dress up to the type of girl you would see on a programme such as snog marry and avoid, makes her character seem realistic. Kitty will allows ordinary teenage girls to have some understanding as to the way in which Kitty's character is feeling as she could be any one of them.

- Make-up (bronzer + brush, blusher+brush, foundation, eyeliner, lipstick, fake eye lashes, mascara and glitter

Barbie Jail Costume (Hannah)
The main characters costume really differs though out this short film as there are flashbacks. When these occur she will be wearing jeans, a top and converse which are casual items of clothing really connoting to the audience she's young and also suggests she may not have much confidants, as none of these items complement her figure. When she goes back to reality we see her in very seductive clothing really revealing her body. The difference in items of clothing really represent the difference in character. As the casual clothing represents your very plain Jain girl that isn't fussed about the way she looks then you have the other items of clothing really representing this confident character that loves her body and likes getting attention. Among costume is also make-up as this is an important factor within our short film we want it to be extream and to look very much over the top.

She finds comfort in the lace of her black pink bra
Her heart beats silently
To be freed from the cage she has locked herself in
Layers of slapped on makeup to go with her bright pink pout
These layers unfold the ugliness behind
Of what once was natural but has now been left behind
She entered this cage
To cure her from the terrible illness
Of natural beauty and plain Jain looks
She finds protection in altered images
Always tending to shock
Her idol Barbie
Her enemy herself
These looks have her hooked
In the plastic jail of the female sex
Surely this cant be any good
Her prison guards Elle
Confine her to her pink and white cell
Scales have to be checked
To put her to the test
0% chocolate
100% control
These conditions are serious but what can she do?
Better in the beautiful hell inside
Than the ugly heaven outside
